Results of Air Quality Monitoring by Wandsworth Council are in and have shown a drop in harmful pollutants. In Nine Elms and on Lavender Hill, the number of days that levels of PM10 exceeded EU limits halved.
Local Conservatives have been working with TfL to bring in cleaner buses across Battersea with a low-emission bus zone established in August between Wandsworth and St John’s Hill. TfL estimate an NO2 reduction of 91% along this route. Last year Wandsworth revised its 5-year Air Quality Action Plan with a further 50 actions to reduce pollution levels. Providing a comprehensive network of electric charging points is a key plank of the strategy and by the end of 2019, Wandsworth will have around 800 charging points - the highest number of charging points of any London Borough.
